Est. 2017 — Bell Street, no. 9

Bitter, bright,
and brewed by
hand.

We are a nine-seat coffee house that roasts in the back and bakes in the front. No app, no loyalty points. Just a good cup and somewhere to put it down.

The House

It started with a broken roaster and a stubborn lease.

In 2017 we took over a shuttered print shop on Bell Street with a secondhand roaster that only worked if you hit it twice. We kept the tile floor, the smell of old ink, and not much else.

Seven years on, the roaster still gets hit twice. We roast small, sell quick, and never let a bag sit longer than a week. If we run out of the good stuff by noon, that is just how it goes some days.

01

We roast on Tuesdays

Every bean we pour was roasted in the back room within the last seven days. You can watch it happen if you come early enough.

02

The pastry case is small

Elise bakes what she feels like at 5am. Six or seven things, gone by early afternoon. Tomorrow it will be something else.

03

Stay as long as you like

Nine seats, slow wifi on purpose, and nobody hovering for your table. Read, work, argue quietly. We do not mind.
